Al Sadd respond to rumours that Barcelona want to replace Valverde with Xavi Hernandez

Ernesto Valverde has be under intense pressure following Barcelona’s 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid yesterday in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal.

News broke up earlier today that the Catalans are planning to replace manager Ernesto Valverde with former player Xavi Hernandez who currently coach Al Sadd in Qatar.

It is believed that Xaxi would prefer a return the Camp Nou, however, Al-Sadd general manager Turki Al-Ali have stated Xavi remains committed to Al Sadd, and their coach is focusing on the club right now.

“The issue of Xavi going to Barcelona is normal and expected because he will be at his club and it’s his first home and he must return there in the future, but as of today, Xavi is the coach of Al Sadd.”

“Xavi and his team are focusing on tomorrow’s match against Al-Rayyan, and we know that a club with the size and professionalism of Barcelona will take to official channels to speak of such matters.”

Many Barcelona faithfuls are not convinced by Valverde’s work at Barcelona, and they have always opted for replacement for their boss.

According to sources, Barcelona knee replacing Valverde but that will not be imminent. It is very likely however that this will be Valverde’s last season at Barcelona.
