Former Al Hilal forward Abednego Tetteh reveals why he joined Hearts of Oak

Former Bechem United and Al Hilal striker Abednego Tetteh completed a three year move to Hearts of Oak last Monday and was unveil at club secretariat after signing his contract.

He has revealed why he chose the Accra based side over other Ghana Premier League sides. He admitted of being Hearts of Oak fan and he wanted to be at the club he supports since infancy.

“Everything has gone through and I have signed a three year contract with Accra Hearts of Oak. Hearts is part of the numerous clubs that contacted me but I chose them because I wanted to feel at home. I followed my heart,” Tetteh told FOX FM in Kumasi.

“It is a dream come true to sign for Hearts of Oak. All my family members are fans of Hearts. My father is even called Phobia,” he added.

The bulky forward was instrumental for Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League before he left for Sudanese Premier League outfits Al Hilal Omdurman in 2016.

Tetteh, 29, bagged in 12 goals out of 22 Premier League games for Bechem United and scored only a goal in five league matches for Hilal in his first season in Sudan.

Despite being inactive for almost a year, the 29-year old revealed his readiness to get started with the club ahead of the return of the second round for the Ghana Premier League.

The coronavirus pandemic led to the suspension of the Ghana Premier League in May and the Hearts striker set sight on the league’s return.

“I will urge the supporters to continue to pray for the whole team but not for individual players. We are hoping and praying for Covid-19 to end so that we can continue our football season.”

The forward make admission over playing together as a team with new team-mates at Hearts.

“There are players in the team before I came, we have to play together as a team. I am a Hearts player now and have trained with the team.”

The Ghanaian International won the FA Cup with Bechem United in 2016.
