Manhyia Palace secure US$ 30 million fund to complete Adako Jachie project amid move away from Baba Yara Stadium

Asante Kotoko would soon move away from the Baba Yara Stadium to their own ultra-modern Stadium after Manhyia Palace appear to have plans in place to give Ghana Premier League outfits a new brand home.

The Premier League giants are one of the most decorated clubs in Africa on the silverware scale, winning twice the CAF Champions League together with a host of runners ups in the competition.

They are 24-time Ghana Premier League champions making them the most successful club in Ghana’s Tier I football league.

Very recently, the International Football Federation of History and Statistics (IFFHS) branded the Ghanaian side ‘African Club-of-the Century’ to demonstrate their success on the pitch throughout ages since the start of football in Africa.

However, Asante Kotoko remain one of the infrastructure-poor football clubs, comparative to Zamalek, TP Mazembe, Al Ahly, Esperance de Tunis, Wydad Athletic Club and Raja Casablanca as well as Mamemlodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, in Africa.

They are now in the midst to have and benefit from infrastructure development from Manhyia Palace, the headquarters of Asante Kotoko, as the club prepares to make the Adako Jachie their new home from the famous Baba Yara Stadium.

According to latest reports, Manhyia Palace has secured a US$ 30 million fund to see the development of Adako Jachie.

”Manhyia has plans to see infrastructural development at Asante Kotoko not only stadium but all-round facelift infrastructure wise.” This revelation was made when Personnel Assistant to the Manhyia’s Chief of Staff Kwame Aboagye Mensah confirmed in an interview with Kumasi-based Radio Station Oyerepa FM.

Kotoko have moved training to the Adako Jachie training complex since 2010 and the center have suffered mini-developments from past managements for the past three years.

The training facility is reportedly close to seeing completed development from club’s owner and Life Patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The reported plan for developing the center may include building an ultra-modern stadium- (VIP stand, media stand, electronic scoreboard, and gym Center) and multipurpose training pitches.
