Gaston Sirino happy to return in Mamelodi Sundowns Premier Soccer League clash against Highlands Park

Gaston Sirino is ready to make the Mamelodi Sundowns fans smile again as he returns from suspension ahead of Down’s clash with Highlands Park.

Sirino missed the last two games for Sundowns after he was suspended for his actions in the MTN8 semi-finals against SuperSport United in September last year.

The Uruguayan midfielder was eventually handed a two-match ban after being found guilty of assaulting both Clayton Daniels and Dean Furman, who is not even with Matsatsantsa anymore.

“Look, I served my suspension and I missed two crucial games,” Sirino told Mamelodi Sundown’s website.

“I am happy that we managed to book ourselves a spot in the final. It will be the second final this season and we are going to make sure that we win another cup competition.

“It’s been a couple of months with no football due to the lockdown and when football returned I had to sit out. It was not easy watching from the stands but now I am available for selection.

“If I am selected I will do my best and make sure the supporters are happy at home as they cannot be with us at the stadium.”

A win for Sundowns at Dobsonville Stadium today (18h00) would close the gap between themselves and league leaders Kaizer Chiefs to just one point.
