Fortuna Dusseldorf rule out Ghanaian striker Bernard Tekpetey ahead of Paderborn clash as Bundesliga returns this weekend

The German Budesliga returns this weekend after two months of break from the novel coronavirus pandemic but Fortuna Dusseldorf striker Bernard Tekpetey would have to wait later than this weekend to return to action.

Dusseldorf rerun in their first Bundesliga game against Paderborn since mid-March but they will miss the services of Ghanaian Internatioanl Tekpetey at home tomorrow due to forward’s latest injury.

Dusseldorf boss Uwe Rosler provided injury list updates in his pre-match press conference for weekend bottom game, and the latest list consisted of Tekpetey.

“For Dawid Kownacki, Bernard Tekpetey and Zack Steffen the game comes too early after their injuries,” he said.

The Ghanaian International completed a move to Paderborn in 2018, registering 10 goals out of 32 appearances before joining Schalke 04 in 2019.

However, the 22-year old striker failed to play a game for the Royal Blues and was loaned out to Dusseldorf ahead of this season.

The forward was gradually walking into Rosler’s eleven before the season took a shot break. He has appeared nine times with assist for Dusseldorf this season.

Fortuna Dusseldorf have struggled in the league this season, sitting 16th on the Bundesliga table and have the chance to escape relegation from the remaining 11 Bundesliga games.

As they battle relegation, the bottom side have won only five of their 25 games and knee claiming their first victory when the league returns this weekend but Bernard Tekpetey misses out against his former side
