MARITZBURG UNITED striker Judas Moseamedi warns Leaders Kaizer Chiefs ahead of weekend League clash

Moseamedi broke Chiefs’ hearts in the Telkom Knockout semifinals at Mbombela Stadium last month and will face them again on Sunday in their last Absa Premiership match of the year at Harry Gwala Stadium.

The former Cape Town City striker said the attention he is getting at the moment is good for his performance and it won’t get into his head.

“I will just play the way we played them in the semi final, I’m just hoping I will start,” said Moseamedi.

“I was happy. You know it’s good when people talk about you and praise you, it helps you to grow as a person. You just need to be grounded and hope you don’t go down. You play as good as your last game.”

The 25-year-old has been seen as a giant-killer lately but remains humble about his scoring exploits against the big teams.

“About performing well against big teams, it’s just that I get lucky when I play against them. I perform well in every game that I play. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.”

The muscular striker is aware that Chiefs defenders will be planning for him on Saturday.

“No, mina angisabi muntu [I’m not scared of anyone]. All these defenders they plan for opponents, also I plan for them. If it goes well, regardless who is playing on the day it doesn’t really worry me.”

His coach Eric Tinkler has suggested that if he continues like this, Moseamedi may have a chance to be called up to the Bafana Bafana squad.

“I’m ready, I was born ready. So yeah, when they call I will answer. We have quality strikers in the PSL, I just hope when it comes I will be ready.”
