Fredrick Ansah Botchway and Joseph Esso strikes brush aside Danbort FC in MTN FA Cup round 64

Hearts of Oak welcomed Danbort FC to the Accra Sports Stadium for 1/64 of the 2019-2020 MTN FA Cup as the Phobians began the chase for a second successive FA Cup final having lost last edition’s final 3-1 to rivals Asante Kotoko in Tamale.

After a period of showcasing some decent and nice piece of entertaining football, Hearts broke the deadlock 24’ minutes inside the first half when Fredrick Ansah Botchway shot from outside the box for the ball to side with the left post to give Hearts the deserving lead.

On the 63rd minute Hearts doubled their lead after Joseph Esso reacting the quickest to tab home an error by Danbort goalkeeper.

Hearts took total control of the game and dominated their opponents to end the game 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They could have scored the third and fourth goal but Raddy Ovuka on two occasions in the second half missed the posts narrowly after both cutting in from the right edge of the box.

Today’s win sees Hearts of Oak through to the 1/32 of the MTN FA Cup, and will know their opponents when the round of 32 draw comes off some days to come.
