Representative confirms Arsenal’s interest in Thomas Partey transfer

Arsenal are known to be chasing Atletico Madrid ace Thomas Partey in a £45million transfer.

The player’s father are now believed to confirm Arsenal’s interest in the Ghanaian International.

On Tuesday, Partey’s father told Tru FM’s Sports World Show: “I called my son after hearing rumours and he told me that the rumours are true.

“He told me they are holding talks between himself and Arsenal. It all depends on the offer Atletico are demanding. If he goes to Arsenal fine, they have a lot of supporters in Ghana.

“I will be happy if he decides to move to Arsenal. What they are discussing now is how Atletico will release him.”

However, on Thursday night, Partey posted on his Instagram story redirecting fans to a statement from his representatives JJ Sports to deny the father’s claim.

“Quick Note !!! in the midst of transfer period – a lot of stories are created, manufactured and also alleged until the final day of the transfer period,” the statement on Instagram read.

“Mostly adds up to the hype and promotion of the beautiful game.

“Father of Thomas Partey might have said something but we can also put everything aside and respect the official communication of his management JJS Sports.

“At this period a lot of persons (some media personnel) in search of exclusive stories would want to produce on conversations around just to suit their agenda.

“The fact is that, any statement heard was an opinion clearly misinterpreted to suit a particular agenda. There has been nothing officially communicated or no such conversations between the player and anybody.

“There is absolutely no truth in what the plate’s dad had allegedly to have said.

“We wish the media and all fans will embrace the official message from the player’s agent and not any family member or friend.
