Manchester City 3-0 Aston Villa, more about the game
Manchester City keep on chasing Liverpool, and to some whatever point have made the Epl table more interesting after their early kick off clash against Aston Villa at the Ittihad Stadium. City outclassed Dean Smith’s men 3-0 in the second half to cut Liverpool’s five points lead to only three points from now, and until Liverpool face a dicey fixture against Tottenham tomorrow at Anfield.
The away side had been able to keep Manchester City at bay after showing some resistant display in the first half, but not throughout the whole 90 minutes as Raheem Sterling broke the deadlock for City few seconds into the second half. The England International went through one-on-one with Tom Heaton before sending the ball in between the legs of the English.
Kelvin De Bruyne doubled City’s lead on 65th minute, and five minutes later, ilkay Gundogan sealed City’s 3-0 show over Villa. There were so many controversies on the afternoon but most popular of them all is Kelvin De Bruyne’s goal.
Raheem Sterling was in an off side position, and by popular interpretation, the English is suspected to have interfered with De Bruyne’s strike, thus blocked the view of Heaton following the Belgian’s strike at goal. But there was no review from the VAR.
Fernandinho was shown the exit door for a second yellow card, having been adjudged to have pulled back Davis.
City second on the league log is trailing first placed Liverpool by three points. Klopp’s side face Tottenham at Anfield tomorrow afternoon.
